Tactics

1. Play with 2 attackers and 2 wingers. The rest of the players are for you to arrange. Better make good use of them in your defence.

2. Put your goalkeeper as left defender and he will play both as defender and keeper. One thing to note is that the keeper's capabilities may be decreased and he may score stupid own goals.

3. Your captain affects the way your team plays. If your keeper is the captain, you will concede minimal goals. However if one of your attacking players ( SC FC AMC etc.) is the captain, you will score more goals at the expense of your goal difference.

4. Shearer is known to be the best striker in the game. He is best paired with another striker that can support him. eg. Ronaldo, Stan Collymore.

5. Use your close-season period wisely. Arrange friendlies and try every tactic you can think of. No matter how stupid. Snatch up all those superb but already free-transferred players which you have been ogling at since March. Sell those bunch of useless old chaps. Then rest your players until the first match when season starts.

Tricks to winning

1. To keep an all-win record, press the * key to get thrown out of the game when u lose without saving. The next time you load is when you last saved. Remember to save your game regularly.

2. Use direct style to get the original aim of the game: to attack and score goals!

3. Always get Ronaldo, Weah, Shearer, Fowler and Kluivert. These five superb strikers will do you proud with their big repertoire of GOALS.

4. Play with a good sweeper and he will score many goals (especially Sammer).

5. Get B.Laudrup to be your set-piece taker. Don't be surprised at how much he can assist + score!

 6. Get players for free : Approach the player you want and if he's available, quote a price that the club will most probably agree on. (Like twice the price, or a few million above his value) If the club agrees, then you go and adjust the offer. Quote nothing. Then click on CANCEL. Go on the deal as usual and BULL'S EYE, you got the player! (That is, if the player wants to go to your club)

7. The Traditional Trick : Manage some clubs to buy players from your club at sky-high prices. Or get their good players. If a player doesn't want to go to your club, try putting him on the Transfer List, never let him play and make him unhappy. That way he will leave the club willingly!!!Or free-transfer him and get him for your original club! (This is a bit risky...) (Works only for the not-updated version)

8. Be MANAGER of ENGLAND : Type your name as the current manager of the ENGLAND squad. (Like Terry Venables) I haven't tried it for the updated version yet, so try it and tell me about it!

Secrets to winning

1. Whenever your opponent plays ultra-defensive, use all-out-attack against them and you should get quite a good result.

2. When your opponent leads you by two goals, switch to counter-attack long ball style. There will be a good chance that you equalise or even beat your opponent.

3. Coventional Way : Use CM2 Editors, CM2 SaveGame Editors and other hacks. They can be downloaded at many other CM2 Homepages.
